My girlfriend and I felt extremely comfortable during our visit to Mattis. The staff and the owners are absolute people of the heart - so friendly and committed, we were really speechless. The food and ambience are excellent! Will definitely be back :-)

The restaurant MATTIS is located in the old town of Esslingen, more precisely on the harbor market. Incidentally, there is also the oldest row of houses in Germany. So also a nice forecourt with a very nice fountain that stands directly in front of Mattis. The Mattis is modern but also comfortably furnished and is family-run. This also results in the excellent menu with a wide variety of Maultaschen delicacies, vegetarian options are of course also available. The operation is downright exemplary. The waiting time corresponds to the preparation time for fresh food. Both in terms of taste and appearance, the dishes are excellent. The prices are moderate. The modern restaurant Matthis is located in the middle of the beautiful town of Esslingen at the harbor market. Here you go on the trail of Swabian tradition and can enjoy the homemade Maultaschen with a classic and modern interpretation. Whether Maultaschen, Herrgotts-Bscheißerle or filled nudla, these are available here in different variations with taste and sophistication. If you want, you can take Maultaschen home with you. In summer you can sit outside with a view of the fountain. The service is very friendly and quick. The price-performance ratio is absolutely okay. The hygiene measures are observed. The Hahn couple actually deserved an infinite number of stars! Thank you for the great evening. You are incredible. Food is great but what counts more for me is to be a restaurateur with passion. We will be back.

There are "only" dumplings to eat, but in many great variations. I am particularly looking forward to the duffel bag of the week, which I have never been disappointed with. The staff and the boss (who is always happy to take care of the guests) are very nice and polite! We always like to come back!

We have been to Mattis Maultaschen a lot since we think they are by far the best Maultaschen in town. The selection is also very large for vegetarians. The special Maultaschen vary depending on the season, so that you will be surprised with new delicious creations almost every week. The wait staff and the owner are also very friendly and nice. This was our first time and will be back. Very good, fresh food, different and interesting variations of handmade Maultaschen as well as friendly and fast service. Simply a successful thing!

Homemade dumplings are great. Very friendly service and nice little place. A place for connoisseurs

We were there for a company party on Friday. First we took advantage of the Esslingen city rally and then had dinner there. The food was really great. I can only recommend the homemade dumplings with the Swabian potato salad. The service was attentive and the surrounding area is also suitable. It will probably not be the last time we were there.

I rarely give five stars, but there was really (almost) nothing to complain about. Have never eaten better pasta bags. Toilets very clean, service friendly. Only the window in the toilet could use a privacy screen. It points to a house whose windows are all covered, but if someone put it on there they could have a look.

I was completely impressed by the different pasta pockets, the Maultaschen were excellent. Particularly interesting we found the Maultaschenvariation for two and the sweet Maultaschen. The operator was friendly and accommodating, the restaurant was clean and stylish. Especially the seats in the square in front of the restaurant are great. 😊

Great Maultaschen with friendly staff

Here Maultaschen are reinvented !! Both for locals, as well as tourists worthwhile! We ordered the Maultaschenteller for two. For all who can not decide. And then a damn good dessert. Great service, great location. Also for a drink on the steps to the harbor market dreamlike! Local beers, wines and the best sparkling wine! We'll be back soon!
